In Honor of Veterans

I enlisted in the Air Force during the last year of the Vietnam War.  Although I never saw combat, I served with many who did. I can't imagine the fear and loneliness they must have felt.

I wrote this cinquain to honor all the brave men and women who have served our country.

A big thank you to Matt for hosting our roundup today at Radio, Rhythm & Rhyme.

  4. I hope you'll write poems about your experiences in the Air Force, Linda — as well as the situations and thoughts/feelings that led to enlisting. You'll have a YA novel in verse there!

    1. Janet, I'm not sure why I haven't written more about those experiences. I should do that. The AF changed my life. Thanks for the suggestion!

  8. Linda, you have an amazing story from the Vietnam era. Thank you for enlisting when many were afraid to. Do you have an image poem for my online gallery, Bedecked In Autumn? If so, send I this week. I am sharing the PF poets’ poems when I host next week.
