True Love

It's been six months since we had to say good-bye to our sweet Daisy.  Sometimes, I still expect to see her waiting by the door when I come home. No matter how long I was gone or how late I got home, she was always right there at the door purring.

I miss her friendship. I miss her snuggles. Most of all, I miss her unconditional love.

True Love

My cat sits
on the windowsill
waiting,
watching,
for me
to come home
from school.

I open
the door
to her soft

purr-ing.

A big thank you to my talented friend and this week's host, Linda at TeacherDance .

  4. Such a sweet poem for your Daisy. I'm so sorry for your loss. There's an emptiness where a soft, welcoming purr used to be, isn't there? I still grieve for my Ling Ling who slept beside me every night.

  12. Yep. I'm a cat lover...dog lover too. But, my cat can just get me when no other human or canine cares to. And, he sleeps behind my knees...which is kind of adorable. This is all to say, I'm sorry you miss your cat. I get it. It's a rough loss. I hope you can get another sometime soon.

  14. I'm so sorry. I too am a cat lover and if I had not developed allergies to all furry things would probably end up a crazy old cat lady.

  16. I'm sorry for your loss, but thankful for the reminder to enjoy every moment we have with our furry kid. He's more teeth and claws than purr and snuggle, but he's got a huge personality that we love so much.
